Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Tragic Car Crash
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos announced on Wednesday night. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on Monday, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his close associates.
Healing from Light Wounds
The sports star had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to leave and heal privately.
“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.
A Tribute to the Fallen
Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the loss of his two trusted companions.”
His release from the hospital comes as the boxing community shared its support for the champion in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
