Trump Calls Relatives of Injured Guard Soldiers to the Presidential Residence

President Trump announced on Sunday that he has extended an invitation the relatives of a National Guard member tragically killed last week to come to the White House.

He noted that he contacted her parents and they were “devastated”.

Information on the Heartbreaking Shooting

Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was killed in a violent incident on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her comrade, Andrew Wolfe, 24, is still in the hospital in grave state.

Gatherings across the state have been held in their memory.

Presidential Offer

The commander-in-chief stated he’s proposed a White House visit for the parents of both members of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a difficult moment, come to the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” the president informed the press. “And similarly with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Support

Attendees came together over the past few days at the high school in the state to pay respects to Beckstrom.

Both the soldiers had been fulfilling duties with the West Virginia National Guard as part of Trump’s federal initiative to support public safety in Washington DC.

Honoring Beckstrom

“She was the type of pupil that educators wished for. She conducted herself with inner fortitude, a warm expression and a positive energy that inspired people around her,” the principal, the leader of her alma mater, stated to the Associated Press. “She was sweet, caring and always ready to assist people.”

Funeral details for Sarah are in the process of planning.

Judicial Actions and Policy Revisions

Authorities have accused a 29-year-old Afghan national with a charge of homicide and charges of assault with intent to kill while armed.

The incident caused the administration to halt asylum applications and halt providing entry permits to possessors of passports from Afghanistan.

Condition of the Airman

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of Martinsburg, began his service in early 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman high school, according to the AP.

He is still undergoing care and is “battling to survive”, the state’s governor Morrisey said on television.

The state’s top lawyer the attorney general informed Fox News Sunday that she aimed to visit Wolfe’s family.

Memory of Sarah Beckstrom

Sarah, from her hometown, completed her education from Webster County High in 2023 and began her service not long after, serving as a military police officer with distinction, as stated by the military.

“She had a lot of kindness and she absolutely had fortitude,” Morrisey told the audience at the vigil. “Though her time was cut short, she has left a mark that’s going to endure.”
