Top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka Wins Back-to-Back WTA Top Player Awards.
World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been voted the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second consecutive year.
The 27-year-old secured four tournament victories – the highest tally on the circuit – including successfully defending the US Open this past September versus Amanda Anisimova to secure her fourth Grand Slam singles title.
A Season of Dominance
Throughout the year, Sabalenka competed in a tour-best nine championship matches, with defeats coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final at the start of the year and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.
The Belarusian also triumphed at the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open as the clay season progressed. She spent the entire year as the world number one, ending 2025 atop the rankings for a second straight year.
This past summer, she became the first player to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.
Record-Breaking Numbers
Sabalenka ended the season with a sixty-three to twelve match record, and collected a historic eleven million pounds in prize money.
She received nearly eighty percent of the votes submitted by international tennis media.
Later this month, she is scheduled to face 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match in a bid to "raise women's tennis to a new level".
