Severe Downpours Exacerbate Situation for Uprooted Palestinians in Gaza, UN Alert
Persistent rains over the recent period have worsened the extremely difficult situation of the hundreds of thousands of uprooted residents in the Gaza Strip, as stated by aid organizations.
"Terrible" Weather Creates Serious Risks
A official characterized the weather overnight as "horrendous", with rain so heavy that as much as 15cm (6in) of water was seen on the streets.

The health ministry have stated that one baby has succumbed from exposure and no fewer than 11 other people have lost their lives in roof cave-ins caused by the severe weather.
Further statements suggest a greater number of casualties. Spokespeople reported that numerous residential buildings had totally fallen and many others had sustained partial collapse.

Aid Operations Considered Inadequate
