Palestinian-American Youth Freed Following Nine Months in Israel's Detention

An American-Palestinian adolescent having endured a nine-month period in Israel's custody without charge gained freedom.
Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 during his detention last February throughout the West Bank territory, where he was visiting on holiday from Florida under suspicion of rock throwing at Jewish settlers, claims he consistently denied.
The US state department said it welcomed the news of Mohammed's release.
Currently aged sixteen, was taken to hospital upon gaining freedom, family members reported.
They said he is visibly pale and thin, and experiencing medical problems contracted in captivity.
Via family representatives, the youth's uncle spoke of the family's "immense relief".
Family member Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "enduring a dreadful, continuous nightmare" over the last nine months.
"Currently, we are focused on ensuring Mohammed receives urgent medical care he requires after experiencing mistreatment by authorities and inhumane conditions throughout his detention."
The state department said it would continue to offer diplomatic assistance for the Ibrahim family.
{"US government authorities has no higher priority to ensuring the safety of US citizens"," the department emphasized.
Twenty-seven US lawmakers submitted a formal letter to US authorities and the White House, urging greater action for his freedom.
Mr Ibrahim, with four children managing a frozen treats business in Florida, previously claimed his child admitted guilt about rock throwing because the soldiers beat him.
The father hadn't visited or spoken to Mohammed following the detention, learning information solely regarding the treatment in detention through court documents.
He stayed absent formal charges in Ofer prison on the West Bank.
The facility also contains grown detainees, featuring prisoners sentenced of serious terrorism offences and murder.
Approximately 350 Palestinian child security detainees detained within Israeli facilities, according to the Israeli Prison Service.
Numerous remain uncharged and human rights groups, as well as the United Nations, say some have suffered physical abuse and torture.
After the teenager's freedom, the uncle stated they would maintain their efforts demanding accountability for their family member Sayfollah Musallet.
