David Walliams lost his contract with book publisher.
Prolific young adult author and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.
A spokesman for the firm stated: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing any new titles by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the decision was taken subsequent to an investigation into claims about conduct deemed unsuitable directed at women.
The firm has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, stating: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."
A Prolific Publishing History
Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, having sold in excess of 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.
His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.
A number of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as TV movies.
To date, he has released more than 40 books in total, encompassing a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins in October.
A Dual Career
His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE several years ago for his services to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.
This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
