Chiefs Confirm Alleged Abuse Allegations Involving Wide Receiver Rashee Rice
The NFL franchise released a comment Wednesday night confirming they are aware of claims of abuse made public in social media posts by a ex-partner of player Rashee Rice and were in contact with the league office.
The organization omitted the name of the player specifically in their announcement and stated they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name Rice directly, shared a series of photos on social media that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. Jones stated the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and it is known she has two children with the football player, whom the Chiefs selected in the second round.
Official Complaints Reportedly Not on File
No police reports were available in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.
Rice's Recent Legal Issues
The receiver missed the initial part of this season due to an league-mandated ban for his role in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that left several individuals hurt. Rice was given 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to serious offenses.
On the field, Rice concluded the season with 53 catches for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Chiefs finished 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a decade.
